Our Founder in the Phoenix Business Journal
Last week, the Phoenix Business Journal featured Carla Sandine, our Founder & CEO — and we couldn’t be more excited. If you haven’t checked it out yet, here’s a summary.
After working as a Public Affairs Officer at the International Rescue Committee, Carla felt that marketing agencies weren’t approaching the organization with up-to-date services. In 2011, she launched Highway Twenty to give nonprofits and other organizations access to high quality, culturally competent digital marketing services.
We’ve since grown from a two person team at Carla’s kitchen table to an agency of six people, plus contractors and partners. Highway Twenty has had a chance to work with incredible clients in Arizona and around the US on a range of projects, including research and strategy, web development and content marketing.
Carla notes: “We built the largest audience for any political entity in Arizona” for MovePHX. The effort was so successful that “(Phoenix Mayor Greg) Stanton joked he would have to name a street after us.”
In our fifth year, we’ll continue to help clients with our culturally competent services — especially when it comes to recruiting young people to give, volunteer, and vote.
